Philadelphia 76ers to Honor Teach Anti-Bullying Founder Dr. Claudio V. Cerullo with “Heroes Among Us” Award November 20 at Wells Fargo Center

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – November 13, 2013 –  Claudio V. Cerullo, Ph.D., the founder and President of Teach Anti-Bullying, a Philadelphia-based national non-profit foundation, will receive the Philadelphia 76ers “Heroes Among Us” Award for 2013, at a special ceremony on Wednesday, November 20th at the Wells Fargo Center during the Sixers game against the Toronto Raptors.

According to the 76ers, “Dr. Claudio V. Cerullo is a true hero when it comes to helping children and families who are victims of bullying. He has spent over 20 years working on school violence prevention and educated children, parents, teachers and law enforcement on what bullying is and how it takes the lives of our children. He is a very giving individual with heart of gold. He founded Teach Anti Bullying Inc. In its two years, he has spoken to over 10,000 kids, 5,000 parents and 2500 teachers. He also established the Teach Anti Bullying Scholarship award to a local high school student who exhibits true courage and heroism and aids in the help of his or her student body to stop violence and bullying.”


The Sixers "Heroes Among Us" program awards people in the greater
Philadelphia-area who have made exceptional and overwhelming contributions to better the lives of children in the community. Each recipient of the award will receive half of the proceeds from the Sixers Strong 50/50 Raffle to donate to the charity of their choice (recognizable 501 (c) 3), which also takes place at every home game. This award is given in the spirit of Alexandra "Alex" Scott, who founded Alex's Lemonade Stand to raise funds and awareness to end childhood cancer.
