College Fanz Sports Network Announces 2010 Pre-Season NAIA Football Top 25

Grand Island, Nebraska – July 6, 2010 – College Fanz Sports Network, the world's largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, announced their preseason National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) Football Top 25 rankings today. The rankings were compiled by veteran NAIA guru and College Fanz director of college relations Jason Dannelly, along with members of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week broadcast team.
“Finding the top teams in the country is not too difficult,” said Dannelly. “Rating all 93 teams in the country is the tough part. It’s very tough to predict how some of these teams will do early in the season. Thankfully the rest of the College Fanz team was able to help out and pitch in their hours of research for this rating.”

Grabbing the top spot in the ranking are the back-to-back defending NAIA National Champions, the University of Sioux Falls Cougars, who have been rated in the College Fanz NAIA ranking’s top spot since winning the 2008 NAIA National Title. The Cougars have a veteran wide receiver core led by one of the NAIA’s best in Jon Ryan. Defensively the Cougars looked to be strong again but will have to replace seven key starters from last year’s top defense in the NAIA.

At the number two position are the Lindenwood University Lions who gave the University of Sioux Falls everything they could handle in last year’s national championship game. The Lion’s return some of the NAIA’s best offensive players in quarterback Philip Staback, running back Denodus O’Bryant and wide receiver Matt Bramow.

Carroll College, winners of 5 national titles in the last decade, checks in at the third spot in the rankings. The Saints boast one of the NAIA’s top tight ends in Bubba Bartlett along with five other players who will land in the “College Fanz NAIA Top 72 Players” list to be announced next week.

Saint Xavier University and Morningside College are both coming off stellar seasons as they round out the top five in the College Fanz NAIA Top 25 Rating. A complete look at the College Fanz NAIA Rankings is available in the College Fanz NAIA Preview 2010 Magazine which is now on sale at http://naia.collegefanz.com/magazine.php.

While there are many magazines and publications devoted to college football previews each season, only one is devoted to the “Champions of Character” competing each fall in the NAIA. The seventh annual College Fanz NAIA Football Preview magazine provides detailed information on the great teams, coaches, student-athletes and traditions of all the NAIA football programs. The 2010 edition of the College Fanz NAIA Football Preview magazine features the annual ranking of the NAIA Super 72 (the top 72 players in the country at various positions); the Super 6 (the nation’s top six overall players); complete ranking of all NAIA football teams; feature articles on every NAIA Conference; and predictions for the upcoming 2010 season.

Dannelly has been rating NAIA Football teams since the fall of 2002. His weekly NAIA Football ratings are recognized nationally in various media sources.
