Supreme Court Ruling on Political Speech by Corporations is a Boon to Campaign Grid

Last week's Supreme Court ruling overturning bans on political speech by corporations was welcome news to suburban Philadelphia-based Campaign Grid.

Campaign Grid co-founder Rich MastersonCampaign Grid is an online platform for political advertising founded by noted Internet and technology entrepreneurs Rich Masterson and Jeff Dittus. The company has managed over 60 online ad campaigns for political candidates, committees and nonprofit organizations. Recently the company announced an agreement with the Republican National Committee.

“The ruling last week by the Supreme Court will open the floodgates of political spending,” according to Masterson. "Not only can we now work with political affairs representatives to drive web traffic for or against candidates, but we can also help lobbyists with specific legislative initiatives".

Political advertising is quickly moving to the web because the Internet is where consumers are turning for political news. Campaign Grid managed the online advertising for newly-elected New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and also currently works for Congressman Jim Gerlach. The company expects to manage over 100 online campaigns in the 2010 elections.
