College Fanz Sports Network Celebrates 1st Anniversary with Enhanced Homepage & Exciting New Features

Mt. Laurel, NJ – October 8, 2008 – College Fanz™ Sports Network kicks off their second year of operations with an enhanced homepage and even more exciting new features for the world’s largest online college sports community.

Entrepreneur and innovator Bill Rasmussen and his team launched College Fanz 28 years to the day after launching his most famous earlier creation, ESPN. College Fanz went live on September 7, 2007.

During year one, College Fanz forged a pioneering partnership with the College Sports Information Directors of America, providing a platform to showcase results for every team through both America’s College Scoreboard™ and the Virtual Pressbox™. College Fanz now boasts over 21,000 web pages devoted to more than 1,400 colleges and universities throughout the United States competing in over 233,000 NCAA and NAIA athletic events.

Making its debut in year two is Rasmussen’s personal blog, in which the founder of ESPN and founding partner of College Fanz comments on the latest news and trends in college sports from his own unique perspective.

The fresh new look for the homepage features America’s College Scoreboard, with scores and schedules of every college team. Enhancements include “road trip” mapping, helping fanz travel to their favorite college team’s away games, and widgets that let them embed their team’s results on social network web sites.

The homepage now showcases more original content, including photographs, videos and blogs from College Fanz members.

A new game, “Photo Fight!” gives fanz the opportunity to choose their favorite cheerleader, mascot, action and fanz photos and see how they match up with other fanz’ favorites.

In the new “Smack Chat” feature, fanz can chat about the CF Fanz Challenge each week.
The CF Fanz Challenge tests fanz football knowledge, giving them the chance to correctly name the winners of 10 college football games drawn from across the spectrum of NCAA FBS, FCS, Division II, Division III and the NAIA.

Registered membership in College Fanz is free at http://www.collegefanz.com/.
