International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP) Announces the Addition of Two New Staff

Briarcliff Manor, NY – February 22, 2013 -- The International Society for Medical Publication Professionals (ISMPP; www.ismpp.org) is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff to its office.
Celeste Williams-Hughes joins ISMPP as an Educational Content Manager. Celeste has over 15 years of experience in developing and managing scientific publications, most recently at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals. She also has considerable experience as an advocate for compliance with publication guidelines, and served on cross-functional global and US publications teams. Celeste has a BA in English and holds both BELS and CMPP credentials. Celeste will be responsible for the development, review, and editing/copyediting of educational content for the ISMPP membership, interacting with ISMPP Committees, providing content support for annual meetings, educational activities, and other events, and working with other staff to facilitate the ISMPP presence through social media.
Laine Capaccio joins ISMPP as Director, Certification Program. Laine has over 8 years of experience at medical communications agencies, managing publications and scientific communications projects. She was responsible for advising on ICMJE and GPP2 guidelines, and has extensive financial and budget management experience. Laine has a BA in Communication and holds the CMPP credential. Laine will be responsible for directing all activities associated with the ISMPP Certification Program, including the certification exam, recertification program, and certification-related activities at professional meetings. She will also serve as a non-voting Director on the Certification Board.
Celeste and Laine join the current ISMPP team of Kim Goldin (General Manager), Jen Ciafullo (Education Content Manager), Michele Kantrowitz (Director, Projects and Technical Services), and Sue Marek (Membership and Logistics Manager).
ISMPP was founded in 2005 to represent medical publication professionals from all sectors of medical publishing, including pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device companies, medical publications and communications agencies, journal publishers and editors, academic research, and related fields.
