Jim Kuntz to Oversee Local Organizing Committee for US Youth Soccer Region I Championships in Lancaster, Pa for 2011 and 2012
Horsham, Pennsylvania – June 14, 2010 – Jim Kuntz, Vice President of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer, has been named Chair of the local organizing committee that will oversee the US Youth Soccer Region I Championships in Lancaster, Pa in 2011 and 2012.
Kuntz was appointed to this position by Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer President Robert McDade. Kuntz, a longtime board member for Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer, is also president of the Lancaster County Soccer League.
A $12 million economic impact from the games is expected for Lancaster in 2011 and $15 million in 2012. The tournaments will attract over 250 teams of boys and girls ages 12 through 19 from 15 states throughout US Youth Soccer Region I which is comprised of US Youth Soccer State Associations in the east. The 2011 championships are slated for June 30 through July 4. The 2011 games will draw more than 5,000 players and as many as 10,000 spectators.
“Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer has been working for some time to bring these games to Lancaster,” said Kuntz. “This is an opportunity for Lancaster and the eastern Pennsylvania soccer community to show the region how phenomenal we are.”
