Philadelphia, Pennsylvania – May 3, 2010 – Team Clean, Inc. is pleased to announce that after three months of negotiations with Local 32BJ of the Service Employees International Union, a mutually satisfactory labor agreement for Team Clean employees at 22 schools in the School District of Philadelphia has been reached.
That such an agreement was reached is a testament to the hard work and dedication that both sides put forth in bargaining this contract. The process of collective bargaining can be a frustrating and time-consuming process, but when an agreement is reached it is an indication that reasonable people can come to reasonable solutions to perplexing and important work-related issues, irrespective of differing perspectives and backgrounds.
In this case, Team Clean is proud that the new agreement will benefit its employees in many ways; for instance, Team Clean’s most senior employees will receive a 6.67 percent wage increase from $11.25 to $12.00 per hour effective June 1. Everyone involved in the negotiations agreed that the previous Union –provided health coverage was unsatisfactory and Team Clean is pleased that its full-time employees will be receiving improved single health coverage at no cost to the employees effective July 1.
During the entire period of negotiations, Team Clean has steadfastly attempted to balance the welfare of its employees with the responsible fiscal principles that it attempts to exercise as it maintains and grows a Philadelphia business of which the entire City of Philadelphia can be proud.
Team Clean looks forward to the next three years to work with both its employees and Local 32BJ to make Team Clean an even greater force in the Philadelphia market and a model of a home-grown successful Philadelphia business.
