#4-Ranked University of Saint Francis hosts Marian University Saturday, Sept. 26th in College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week
Grand Island, Nebraska – September 23, 2009 – College Fanz Sports Network, the world’s largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, will feature #4-ranked University of Saint Francis hosting Marian University in the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week this Saturday, September 26th, at 12 Noon Eastern in a live TV webcast at http:/www.CollegeFanz.com.
The colorful College Fanz Van arrives in Fort Wayne, Indiana on Friday afternoon, to provide live, on-site coverage, including the pre-game, half-time, and post-game shows from on campus. The inaugural season of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week delivers live video stream TV coverage of games each weekend throughout the 2009 season. Rasmussen, who founded ESPN in 1979, is the CEO and founding partner of College Fanz. He will be in attendance at this Saturday’s game to meet with fanz before and during the game at Bishop D’Arcy Stadium, and will preside over the coin-toss at the start of the game.
Veteran NAIA sports commentator Jason Dannelly will be the color analyst for the Marian vs. St. Francis contest. Dannelly is the Director of College Relations for College Fanz and producer of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week.
The Cougars of Saint Francis flexed their muscle with a 30-10 road win at then-#9 ranked St. Ambrose (Iowa). Head coach Kevin Donley, in his 12th season, has guided St. Francis to nine Mid-States Football Association Mideast League championships, and his Cougars have a 53-game home winning streak on the line this Saturday.
Marian head coach Ted Karras, Jr. is in his third season, and has his Knights at 2-1 this season. Last Saturday, in front of more than 3,000 spectators, the Knights set a new school record for rushing yards as they christened their new stadium, St. Vincent Health Field with a 34-16 victory over Grand View University.
