#10-ranked Shorter College Hosts Campbellsville University Thursday, October 1st In College Fanz Sports Network’s NAIA Football Game of the Week
College Fanz Sports Network, the world’s largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, will feature #10-ranked Shorter College hosting Campbellsville University in the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week this Thursday, October 1st at 7 p.m. Eastern in a live TV webcast at http:/www.CollegeFanz.com.
The colorful College Fanz Van arrives in Rome, Georgia on Thursday morning to provide live, on-site coverage, including the pre-game, half-time, and post-game shows from on campus. The inaugural season of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week delivers live video stream TV coverage of games each weekend throughout the 2009 season. Rasmussen, who founded ESPN in 1979, is the CEO and founding partner of College Fanz. He will be in attendance at this Thursday night’s game to meet with fanz before and during the game at Barron Stadium, and will preside over the coin-toss at the start of the game.
Veteran NAIA sports commentator Jason Dannelly will be the color analyst for the Shorter vs. Campbellsville contest. Dannelly is the Director of College Relations for College Fanz and producer of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week.
The Hawks of Shorter College are 3-1 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference Western Division following their 43-27 road win over Faulkner University this past Saturday in Montgomery, Alabama. Head coach Phil Jones, in his fifth season at the helm, has a 29-19 career record and led Shorter to its first-ever conference championship and a berth in the NAIA Playoffs last season.
Campbellsville head coach Perry Thomas is in his second season, and has his Tigers are 2-2 overall this season and 1-0 in the Mid-South Conference Eastern Division. This past Saturday, the Fighting Tigers collected a 16-6 victory over West Virginia University Tech in their first conference game of the season at Ron Finley Stadium in Campbellsville, Kentucky.
