College Fanz Sports Network Partners with American Custom Vehicles for College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week’s Innovative College Fanz Van
August 17, 2009 – College Fanz™ Sports Network, the world’s largest online college sports community launched by ESPN founder Bill Rasmussen, today announced that the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week broadcast and production team will travel across America in the innovative, new College Fanz Van, The Prestige Traveler manufactured by American Custom Vehicles of Elkhart, Indiana.
The unique and colorful College Fanz Van will visit over 40 college campuses around the country this fall. Fans in attendance can join the broadcast team for special pre-game and post-game broadcasts live alongside The Prestige Traveler and the Mobile Broadcast Unit, a 16-foot Wells Cargo trailer customized by American Custom Vehicles.
“We are pleased to partner with American Custom Vehicles and the good people in Elkhart who have shown tremendous support and affinity for the inaugural season of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week,” said Rasmussen.
The Prestige Traveler is a new concept in traveling and overnight luxury. With the looks and automotive appeal of a limousine and the comfort and amenities of today’s custom motor homes, The Prestige Traveler is quickly creating a crossover class of its own in automotive and recreational travel. Built on the award-winning Daimler Chrysler Sprinter chassis, The Prestige Traveler power train is the V-6 Mercedes Benz 3.0-liter common-rail direct injection (CRD) turbo diesel engine. It provides powerful, smooth, quiet performance with the benefit of exceptional fuel economy—up to 24 MPG on the highway.
Terry Minix, President of American Custom Vehicles, designer and engineer of The Prestige Traveler, explained his company’s vision to look beyond the conventionally built limousines and motor homes of today to create a new generation of vehicle.
“From the ultra lightweight composite materials we use to make the coach lighter than when it arrived at our facility, to luxury appointments and upholstery found only in European and marine designs, we’ve departed from the conventional recreational vehicle with the design of The Prestige Traveler,” said Minix. “We are proud and pleased to be chosen as the official College Fanz Van of the College Fanz NAIA Football Game of the Week. The Prestige Traveler is compact, provides the ultimate in comfort, and is a proven tailgating machine and is perfect for the College Fanz Van.”
